OVER THERE, OVER HERE: A Forum on New Play Development
Feb 19 2013 - 7:00pm
How do the Brits develop and produce new plays, compared with institutions in the U.S.? What can playwrights, directors and producers learn from successes across the pond? Robert Hedley and Harriet Power – who together have championed, developed, produced and directed scores of new plays – recently returned from a five-month research trip to London with some surprising answers. They’ll present aspects of their findings (featured in December’s issue of American Theatre), accompanied by British playwrights Torben Betts and Anthony Weigh, in a lively interchange with New Dramatists resident playwrights and others devoted to the vitality of new play production in America.
Space is limited. For reservations please call 212-757-6960.
