New Dramatists presents the 13th annual PlayTime, a 2-week laboratory retreat for five plays-in-progress designed to give playwrights the opportunity to explore, workshop, rethink, and revise ambitious new works of theatre by drawing from a supportive company of collaborators, including actors, directors, process facilitators, dramaturgs, stage managers, staff, fellow playwrights, among others. The round-the-clock schedule offers intensive and flexible time for rehearsal, rewrites, feedback, and community engagement. PlayTime has helped bring close to fifty plays to fruition since 2001.

Love On San Pedro is a play about the disenfranchised who live on the streets and in the cheap living quarters of Skid Row in Los Angeles. It focuses on people hungering to do what all human beings do -- love, dream and take solace in each other. We follow the community as they try to form family against the harsh backdrop of a life often spent on the streets of Los Angeles.
