The final installment in a three-play cycle exploring the U.S./México drug wars. While the first play was inspired by the "Bravest Woman in México," the second looked into the ridiculous machismo of narco culture as portrayed by women. This third play examines the United States' involvement in the drug wars; from the selling of arms, to the buying of product, to the laundering of cartel money, to the dark, enigmatic cloud of information that is painted over by the American nationalism machine.

New Dramatists Announces New Members of the Playwright Company

New Dramatists, an artistic home and developmental laboratory for professional playwrights is proud to announce the addition of eight writers to New Dramatists’ company. This talented group of theatre artists was selected by a seven-person committee of New Dramatists playwrights, alumni, and outside theatre professionals from 504 applicants after undergoing a highly competitive, nine-month evaluation process. The playwrights are: Eric Dufault, Matthew Freeman, Aditi Brennan Kapil, Basil Kreimendahl, Matthew Paul Olmos, christopher oscar peña, Lynn Rosen, and A. Zell Williams. They will be in-residence through 2021. New Dramatists will kick off their seven-year residencies with an evening of readings and celebration on Monday, September 8, 2014. Read More
