New Dramatists On the Road to Weston Vermont

In November, the wonderful folks at the Weston Playhouse in Weston, VT hosted a writing retreat for six New Dramatists playwrights. New Dramatists supplied the transportation, food, of course the playwrights, and one staff member to coordinate it all for the week. Weston provided location location location; two beautiful old homes with multiple bedrooms, separate writing spaces, many bathrooms and working fire places right on Main Street in the quaint village of Weston, VT, that has not one, but TWO country stores! Pulling together all three plays for the first time into one evening, and traveling from the library to the studio to the theatre upstairs, and from Dublin to Paris to the mountains of Corsica, this is the culmination of three years' work, which included two Creativity Funds, a New Dramatists program supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The culmination of three years of writing and imaginative effort to introduce Eva to the world- through three play-hours of theatre-and from three angles-the seafront door, the courthouse on the river Liffey and the Corsican mountaintop. It has been making its way into the world via readings in NYC, Berlin, Paris, London, New Orleans, Westport and Hoboken...and a Theatre Row production last July.
