Mad Habits
Jason is proud to have joined the writing staff for season six of "Mad Men." His collaboration with director/conceptual artist David Levine, HABIT, opens PS 122 and The French Institute's Alliance Française's Crossing The Line Festival on September 15. He also wrote a program note for The Wooster Group's collaboration with The Royal Shakespeare Company on Troilus & Cressida.
Smashing Civilization
Jason Grote's play Civilization (all you can eat) opens at Woolly Mammoth Theater February 13 and Salvage Vanguard Theater February 16. NBC's Broadway-themed drama "Smash," for which he writes, premieres February 6.

Monday, November 7, Jason starts shooting his episode of NBC's mid-season replacement "Smash," created by Theresa Rebeck. Shooting begins with guest star Bernadette Peters singing "Rose's Turn" in a role that Jason got to create! In addition to producing this episode, Jason is casting his play Civilization (all you can eat) at Woolly Mammoth, working on a couple of original TV ideas, reading William T. Vollman's Europe Central as research for a commission from ACT, being a dad to a 16-month-old, and very occasionally occupying Wall Street.
