Okay
Cast Requirements
"Okay" can be performed as an ensemble play, a three-hander, a two-hander or a solo. The characters are all teenagers and the cast consists of 3 males and 4 females but great liberty can be taken in casting. Feel free to think outside of the "age" and gender box. Don't be afraid of theatrical casting choices. If you choose to cast gender and age appropriately that's great too.
Set Description
Set: A girls bathroom in a gymnasium during the prom. There are three stalls and a sink area. If the space is not a proscenium then I recommend using a suggestion of bathroom stalls for sight-lines (perhaps diagonal walls, half walls, tape on the floor indicating where they exits, or even see through walls -- use your imagination).
Press
"The real coup belongs to Taylor Mac, whose the-kids-aren't-alright comedy 'Okay' seems complete in itself. Cascades of Mac's spectacular text pour out of hairsprayed teens without a single false note. And when a coked-up babe delivers the season's best rant against the war, it's enough to make you flush with excitement." -- Time Out NY
