A Hamlet: West of Why

In this dark comedy set in the not-too-distant future, a group of young actors tour a 59-minute version of Hamlet across a dystopian American landscape. Aboard self-driving vans, the merry band of players unexpectedly confront the specter of deportation that haunts immigrant communities across the US and decide their only option is to “play on.” This new play explores the madness of living in a hamlet where civil discord is valued over civil discourse, where normalizing is the new normal, and where the act of asking WHY? transforms the classic Hamlet into something “wondrous strange."
