New Dramatists Bake-Off
Dec 19 2013 (All day)

The Bake-Off is a tool to help writers write a first draft quickly. Some folks have called it a method for getting out of your own way. Paula Vogel's Bake-Offs are famous for their design and ingredients... and, of course, for bringing forth many exceptional and beautiful plays.
The Bake-Off distills some essential components of artistic creation: a deadline, commitment, focus, and the warm support of fellow travelers. According to a set timeline, writers receive a "recipe" of ingredients for a new play; the recipes for the ND Bake-Offs have been solicited from dramaturgs across the country. Each writer drafts a new play to share with their fellow "bakers" on the appointed Bake-Off Day.
